Admision Process

Age Limit:

There is no upper age limit for admission, however the minimum age for enrolments is 14 years for secondary courses and 15 years for Senior Secondary courses.

Choice of Subjects:

Subjects can be chosen for the subjects offered as per the criteria given in the prospectus.

Additional Subjects:

Students can also select one or two additional subjects either at the time of admission or during the course of study.

Flexible Scheme of Examination:

Public examinations are conducted by RSOS twice a year. The registered student can avail nine chances to appear in the public examinations over a period of five years of the course. 

Credit Accumulation:

A student can choose to appear in one or more subjects in any examination and earn credit which will be accumulated till all five subjects required for certification are successfully completed within a period of five years of registration.

Transfer of Credit:

A student can avail the facility of transfer of credit (TOC) to a maximum of two subjects passed from the selected 73 boards provided these subjects are also available in RSOS scheme of studies.

Validity of Admission:

A registered student’s admission is valid for five years. For public examination of secondary & Sr. Secondary level, he/she may take nine or fewer chances to successfully complete the course during this period. 

Part Admission:

Under this scheme if a student is studying in a regular school or have already passed Secondary & Senior Secondary examination or any other higher courses from any recognized board or university, he/she may opt one or more subjects but not more than four subjects to update knowledge and educational qualifications. On passing, he/she will be issued only the mark-sheet and no other certificate will be issued. 

Recognitions:

The Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) has granted equivalence to RSOS courses with those of other examinations of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education ,Ajmer for the purpose of admission to higher courses of study at Indian university and getting employment in states as well as in the centre’s departments.

Self Instructional Material:

The RSOS provides specially designed printed self instructional material for 17 subjects at secondary level and for 21 subjects at senior secondary level. It is provided free of cost to the students through 472 AI centers situated all over Rajasthan.

Personal Contact Programme (PCP):

To make the courses of RSOS equivalent to the formal education, a 15-days Personal Contact Program is conducted at all 472 AI centers in December and January every year for the first time newly registered students. The subject experts help and guide the students with regard to their difficulties.
